Amazon is getting into the cable business with their own brand. All of the cables also come in their frustration free packaging, a nice touch. A 6.5" HDMI cable runs less than $9. Pretty good deal.

I like I like!

Right now it doesnt look like they get AS cheap as Monoprice, but they are definitely getting close. I hope they expand their selection a bit though.

Yeah - well they'll sell a ton of these things since they're a trusted provider and most consumers don't know about alternatives for buying cables.

Looking at the photos they do seem to be of a good quality, it would be interesting to see how easy it would be to find out who is manufacturing them for amazon.

Excellent idea by the marketing folks at Amazon. I bet they can make a fortune by selling cables as bundle deals with TVs, PS3s, Blu-Ray players, and so on.

They have some good deals and some not so good deals. The 6 ft. HDMI cable you mentioned looks like a good deal, and then they have a "Ultra high-speed" HDMI cable for $40 that does not look like a good deal. I hope they don't try to use the Monster Cable scheme of duping people into buying excessively expensive HDMI cables!

I like it too and I was going to ask where to find the cables cheap. I love Amazon, it's a website I shop at all the time so I do trust it. Bravo to Amazon again!

Has anyone bought these and tried them yet?

They are not available yet -Amazon has them as "shipping soon". I do need an extra HDMI cable, so will look at getting one from AmazonBasics whenever they do come in stock.
