The first home theater system might be set on 1950s. It consisted of only a portable movie projector and screen, sometimes without sound. Do any of you remember ever watching movies that way?

I was not around back then, so I did not personally. However, I remember this one attraction at Disney World, can't remember the name of it, it tracked a family and how much the world changed over time and there was a scene where the family watched television with a projector screen.

Star Trek was one of the first premier series to be feature in color on TV. Color TV did really not exist much until the mid-1960s. I was just down at Disney and saw that attraction which was taken from the NY 1964 World's Fair (and I saw it there too). They have updated since 1964. While I believe TV was first broadcast in the later 1940s (just a drop before my time), broadcasts became more popular in the early 1950s They had home movies you could make on video cameras with spools that looks like mini reel to reel tapes. I might still have movies somewhere on those packed away.

Goodness, yes. My father had a screen, projector, camera, and editing unit. They took a lot of pictures back in the day. We used to pull it out and watch it from time to time. I also remember going to a school carnival and watching The Raven in a classroom with just a screen and projector.
Is it really you, George?
