If you were going to purchase Bose speakers, is the best place to get them the Bose store? I know that sometimes those types of stores can be super overpriced. Would it be worth finding the speakers somewhere else to save the money?

Bose is very protective of their product line (they are concerned with public perception). I doubt you'll find any discount on them.

The price is what is keeping me from purchasing speakers from them too. I really would love it if they had a more economical brand of speaker for the average working person. I think Bose is a great company it's just they are very unrealistic in their price.

A Bose store is the safest route to go. You might get lucky online with some people selling their "barely used" or "never used" speakers that they need to give up for one reason or another, but there's never a perfect quality guarantee with those.

If I want to buy Bose speakers, I'll prefer to visit directly in the nearest Bose dealers or even service centers. The prices may be high but at least I have assurance that the product is original and high quality.

Bose markets tons. That marketing costs lots of money vs. some companies that choose to not go the route to sell through dealers or retail stores like (but not limited to): Orb Audio, Cambridge Soundworks, Aperion Audio, Axiom Audio, AV123.com and a host of others. This pretty much sums up the Bose approach - http://www.intellexual.net/bose.html

I've heard Aperion speakers and they sounded really good. I also liked Bose when I was still in college. Doing my research saved me a lot of money but still getting the same quality as Bose, or so I think.

Bose is like the Honda of electronics. But what you are spending the extra money for is a brand that stands for reliability. I think Bose also has top secret stuff going on. Hehe.
