I am always shocked when I see a HT room that has a setup with angled seating. I know that sounds a little odd but a normal theater (none I have been in, other than live Opera) allow for this. What gives?

I am not sure I understand you correctly, are you saying you have never saw a theater except Opera that has angled seating? All of our local theaters have angled seating so I am confused which is easily done. :)

I think that is in regards to the design and layout of the seating. Not a reclined seat but actual diagonal placement of the seats.

I think people like angled seating better. It creates a better look in my opinion. Plus it can create more space. My local movie theater has regular seating, which isn't bad. I just think it's about taste, people like different looks in their little home theater.
