Would you build an extension on your existing home, for the sole purpose of installing a home theater? If I had the money I would. I wouldn't like to lose a room to a HT setup, however if I already had a garage, I would convert that.

If I had the money and property I would build an entire new building...... Partly/mostly underground and use the top as a deck, garden or such. As it is I have to be content with a finished basement. It is a dedicated 100% HT. :D

The answer is YES. However, I wouldn't convert the garage, there are toys in there too.

Who wouldn't if they had the money? Now, I have so many plans on how to spend a lot of money. Right now, I don't even have a home theater; I plan to purchase one though. But, if I had the money, I would really get a big house and load it all sorts of exciting things.

Oh yeah - if I had "spare" dough sitting around, I'd totally do that. I like the home theater bunker concept - there's a thread about it on here. My biggest concern would be sound buffering though so the theater doesn't rattle the rest of the house.

OMG! What an idea! I would LOVE to do that. The underground would add to the sound quality as well as the speakers and the whole system. That is one of the best ideas I've heard of. I have a small hill behind my house that would be perfect for something of this kind. Now, if I could only come up with the money-LOL.

I'd echo the statement above - if you had that kind of money available, who WOULDN'T build a dedicated home theater room? (or building as suggested above)
