Hi Guys,

I bought Philips home theatre system @ 10,000 which included a DVD player with 5 speakers and a woofer. I want to use those speakers with my laptop. But the connectors are incompatible with the laptop. I want to know are there connectors available for playing speakers with the laptop? And Is it safe to play those specifically designed home theatre speakers with laptop?

I don't think you can, because according to my book, there is no such feature available yet in Philips, Let's see what other people would say on this.

Your notebook probably wouldn't have the power needed even if you had the proper outputs, interesting idea though. You can pass the output to a receiver however.

Well I suggest using 5.1 or 7.1 Speakers as long as your system support them.
And I feel that your Home theater system may not work well with your laptop but if you manage to get it done then you are lucky mate.

I'd even be afraid to try. You could blow up either system and it would ruin your whole investment. I'd rather just get by on a set of computer compatible speakers until you could afford to upgrade.
