Onkyo's TX-SR608 is a $599 THX Select2 Plus certified AVR which offers Audyssey DSX width/height listening modes in addition to the Dolby Pro Logic IIz height mode. The TX-SR608 is being introduced in unison with the TX-SR508 ($399) and TX-SR308 ($299). All three have HDMI 1.4, the version that supports 3D, and touts a HDMI Thru feature that permits content to pass from receiver to TV even if the receiver is in standby.

Here is the Press Release

It does look quite stylish and I think if I am not mistaken I have had something similar from Onkyo before. How long have they been around for as a company?

A very long time. I know Rotel, a Japanese co. with its own factory in China has been around over 50 years and I'd guess Onkyo is the same or longer.

I am surprised even though I am still getting into this new hobby, that I have never heard of Rotel. I have known of Onkyo for at least 8 or so give/take. Hmmm, time to research a little about this other place though.
