This is kind of funny and disturbing. Apparently this guy picked up a bat from sporting goods, then proceeded to smash the snot out of HD panels in a Georgia Walmart.

I don't even know what to say. I cannot imagine what is going through someone's mind as they are destroying something like that. It's a wild and crazy world out there...

I guess we should stay away from buying floor models at Wal-Mart in GA? B)

That is crazy. It would be scary to see that happen in a store - You never know if he'd start hurting people.

I guess we all have been tempted to smash TVs based on the programing before.

Ahh refreshing to know we (Australia) are not alone with the poor DTV saga then.

I'd say disturbing is the best word to describe the actions of someone walking into a store with violent intent - even of the victims were just TVs.

I was pretty amazed when I heard about that on the news myself. However, people feel stress in ways that we can't imagine anymore.
Is it really you, George?

I saw the video on my local news last night. People were backing up out of the way and they were already 40-50 feet away

That is a little scary, and just another reason to keep an eye on those around you in Wally World. I guess his meds were not really working that day or he felt the need to carry them but not take them.

You would think it would eventually dawn on these people "hey, I'm gonna owe somebody a whole lot of money if I actually do this". And that would be enough to make them practice a little self control. Even the best of us have seen those moments where hurling stuff at the tv screen would've felt good for a minute, but common sense prevails. I guess it's possible to get angry enough to override common sense.

I blame the medicine! :D

This is just another sad story about what people can do when they are depressed. At least he destroyed the TV's instead hurting the people that are in the store.

Great video. And you know, that would actually probably be fun, without the jail time. What else would you smash with a baseball bat in a Walmart? It might be therapeutic, lol.

I am not sure I would take a baseball bat to something even though at times I am sure I wanted to, the little voice telling me "That costs too much" would come back and stop me before hand. I will admit there have been some workers at Wallyland that have made me think about smacking them though.

You better believe Walmart will go after him for that money! Although it's quite comical, this is actually kind of sad. I wonder what would have happened if he did that in Best Buy.

They would have given him the Best Buy Rewards discount!

You never know what kind of people you will find in Walmart. Such a shame to waste those TV's though. He must have some major mental issues.

I watched the video again and he is really calm when he beats the TV's. Maybe the samples movies are crappy and he was fed up with it.

Do you think insurance companies will handle this type of damages?

Oh yeah I remember seeing this on the news a few weeks ago. What the heck was this guy ticked off about? They played the surveillance video and there were people just standing there watching him do it. Maybe they were in shock or maybe they thought he would take the bat to them if they stepped in but you would think security would have been on him.

When I saw this on the news I was just shocked. I worked retail management for many years and am grateful I never encountered a nut case like this guy.
