Finally made the deal to get something better than what we had, but not to the point that my new found hobby will bankrupt me. :)

Samsung PN50B550 50” Plasma HDTV
•50” display
•16:9 aspect ratio
•1080p resolution
•2,000,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio
•1,500 cd/m² brightness
•USB port
•4 HDMI
•PC input
•10 W per channel
•2 speakers•V-chip control
•Energy Star qualified
•600 Hz screen refresh rate

The only issue I have had so far is not TV related (that I can tell) and when I am playing certain games on the PS3 (also new) there is a lag time. The TV looks awesome and I have spent too much time with it this week my kids and spouse might be a little jealous.

Congrats on the new purchase! Not only do you not want to cause yourself to go into bankruptcy, but you also want to leave yourself more room to upgrade! ;)

That's a nice size television that you have there. You can deliver it to my new house for me if you like :). I'm looking for a new television that is 40" and up but I'm still not sure of the brand that I am going to purchase. Right now I'm doing lots of research on the different brands, prices and the needs we have. How do you like your television so far? Is the picture and sound pretty good?
