Reclining Seats? Rate Topic: -----

I'm not sure that I'd want reclining seats in my dream home theater. Some people fall asleep with the TV on, but if I'm watching a movie it's usually an "event" and I'm sitting up. :rolleyes:

Does anyone here prefer recliners as part of their home theater experience?

I have one recliner which I might use depending on the day and mood, and I like it that way. My mother, on the other hand, has a set of couches and EVERY seat pops out as a recliner. To each their own, I guess!

Reclining seats are way too comfortable. I'd love them for a home theater, and I'd probably use them if I was sitting through a movie that my husband wanted to see but I was less than thrilled about (300 comes to mind, and a whole bunch of star trek movies). Then I could be beside him, be comfortable, and who cares if I drifted off just a little. If it was something I wanted to see, I just wouldn't recline.

I prefer it. I actually got one that is part of a sectional and you can get them with no arm rest or one arm rest or two arm rests. I got mine with one arm rest so it is a drop wider.

I have a nice recliner that I relax in when watching television. I don't really have a theater setup there, but it's my viewing arrangement. I use various positions.

Sign me up for the real movie theater seats - the ones that recline way back. I want "movie theater feel" of my home theater.
I won't fall asleep if it's a good movie. If it's not a good movie, I'd sleep sitting up too.

I am with Cotton, I may fall asleep or other people my fall asleep as well. Now massaging chairs, I could co-sign for that during a movie.

lol to the massaging chairs. Now I'm all about relaxing and being comfy when I'm watching TV or a movie. I'm in for the reclining seats and for the massaging ones too. I wonder how much those cost?

I personally prefer recliners, mainly since I like to stretch-out and relax when I watch a move.
