My parents have been looking for a Wii since the first of January. There are no stores around here that have them in stock. Apparently they are scarce again! And the prices of the used ones have sky-rocketed!

There are not scarce here. They are always on sale especially at our local Game Stop. Have you tried gaming stores? Also, try pawn shops or those rent to own stores; if you really want one you can certainly find one there, price pending.

I'm surprised to hear that they're scarce. And that's just a few months after the drop in price.

I think maybe they've received a boost in popularity because of the Wii Fit Plus?

Check costcos also. My local costco always seems to have plenty in stock - even when they were out of stock most places I usually saw them at costco

Maybe it's where they live, if it happens to be small, or where they are shopping, like a department store versus an electronics place. Have they called around? What are the stores saying?
Is it really you, George?

I have helped my mom look and there really are none around here. Walmart, Target, Best Buy, Sam's, etc. None of the big stores have them. And I agree - it's probably due to inventory season.

I got my Wii by going to Meijer at 6am and waiting for them to put them out. They only put 6-12 of them out at a time at our local Meijer store and you can't really find them anywhere else around here. I was happy to get it but now I'm bored because I can't find any cool games to play. The ones I want to play all require that balance board and I don't have the money for that right now.

I've seen them around too. I wonder if they are getting rid of the inventory because they are switching to a Wii that works with netflix. I heard the new Wii is going to cost more that is why they dropped the price of the original Wii?
