Hi - I need your help in determining whether my plans will work as I hope.

I currently have a 42" flatscreen (Panasonic P42S1) with 3 HDMI connections, digital audio, and 2 component sets.

I also have a HTPC that I am connecting to the TV via an HDMI cable (video card to TV). The audio here is Soundblaster X-Fi Hi Def Audio but I am able to output audio & video through the HDMI cable.

I'm considering getting the Panasonic sc-pt770 and I want to be able to use the HTiB speakers for both the TV & for the HTPC (bluray, etc). How should I plan on hooking these three units up? Any advice?

Thanks!

the HTiB setup needs to have a HDMI input and output

You can connect the HTiB to the HTPC via the input side and out put it to the TV
if you want the HTPC to be independent also get a HDMI splitter and split the output of the HTPC so one cable runs to the HTiB and the other to the TV
so you can use the HTPC sand tv sepearate from having the HtiB on

in the Tv set up you will want to turn the audio off and set the audio fix to on if that is an option then all audio wil pass to the HtiB

I have somthing sorta similar
MY A/V rec doent have HDMI
My TV has one input and my Projector has one M1 connector my Sat box and Game system both have HDMI connectors
I output the PS3 and Sat box to a HDMI auto switch 2 inputs to one output then output that using a splitter 1 in 2 out to the Tv and Projector via a HDMI cable and HDMI to M1 adapter.

That covers the Video side
For audio I run a Coaxial digital cable from the Sat box to the reciever and one from the Game console to the A/V rec
the Auto switch has the primary set to the game system and sec to sat box when the Game system is off the sinal is routed to the Sat box

With this setup I can recieve HDMI audio and video from the Sat box direct to the Tv or send the audio to the a/v unit since the game console and Sat box can output multiple signals via different cable formats simultaneously.
My biggest issue is if I want to download a game demo and watch the sat box at the same time in which case I just unplug the HDMi cable from the back of the PS3 thus switching the HDMi cable to the primary source
yes I could save a lot of hassle hear by getting a a/v upgrade but I like my reciever and the ones I would want our presently out of my budget range
